The owners of Dance Center Chicago are Ron and Mari Ford. Ron and Mari actively pursue the study of partner dancing, and have participated in numerous regional as well as national competitions. Ron’s enthusiastic commitment to mastering the principles of ballroom dancing won him the title of two times United States Amateur Champion. Although Ron’s first career was in chemical engineering, and Mari’s was in dietetics and management, the call to dance was irresistible. After having achieved extensive teaching/training and administrative experience in the corporate world while teaching dancing at local studios, Ron and Mari opened Dance Center Chicago. Ron and Mari have had excellent instruction in the art of ballroom dancing from the field’s leading coaches. Most recently, they have had intensive training from one of the world’s foremost experts in the International Standard style of DanceSport. This closed position dance style requires skillful lead-follow communication which enables the dancers to move spontaneously and synchronously around a crowded dance floor. Whether they are teaching beginning level dancers or experienced dance enthusiasts, Ron and Mari apply their knowledge and insight to help their students achieve a comfortable, natural and enjoyable style of dance. In addition, Dance Center Chicago has a network of experienced and talented instructors who teach classes and private lessons at the studio. All instructors at Dance Center Chicago have had extensive dance training and are experienced competitors in the Ballroom and/or Latin styles. In addition to Ron and Mari, the following teachers are available for private lessons at Dance Center Chicago.
