Our Philosophy and Approach...

We believe dancing is a great way to spend your time. Dancing helps reduce stress, as well as improve fitness and self-confidence. Dancing together helps couples stay in touch with each other. If you are looking for a way to meet people, ballroom dancing provides a wonderful opportunity to make new friends.

We believe that everyone can learn to dance! We offer instruction geared to the specific needs and learning styles of each individual student. As your skills develop, we will invite you to participate in advanced-level classes. When you are ready, this will open a new world of fun and challenging opportunities.

We provide an easy-going atmosphere where students can learn at their own pace. We encourage students to repeat classes as often as they wish until they feel comfortable with the material.

Our approach to dance instruction is based on natural movement. At Dance Center Chicago, we teach you more than steps. We teach you how to dance.

Be good to yourself!

Dancing is a great physical conditioner and form of aerobic exercise. It tones the body while increasing flexibility and balance.

According to researchers at the Mayo Clinic, social dancing can help reduce stress, increase energy, and improve strength and coordination.

Fast ballroom dancing can elevate your heart rate just as much as running and cross-country skiing.

Dancing can burn as many calories as walking or riding a bike. Moderate ballroom dancing burns between 250 and 300 calories per hour, and fast dancing can burn 400-plus calories an hour.

In North America, more than 1 million people enroll in ballroom dancing classes each year.
